The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that Moscow is carefully following recent developments in Pakistan.
According to news sources, “Maria Zakharova”, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry tweeted: “We are following the developments related to the arrest of Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. We urge all parties to resolve the differences through peaceful means and we hope that the protests will not lead to a serious conflict and that Pakistan will return to normalcy soon.”
Imran Khan has called his removal from power illegal and part of the “conspiracy of the West”. “Intel Republic” website reported in this regard, Imran Khan, who was arrested on charges of corruption, says that his arrest was due to political motives, and while he appeared in the court session today, there were flames and chaos with the demonstrations of thousands of supporters. He has covered the whole of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s “Dawn” newspaper also wrote that the Interior Ministry of Pakistan on Wednesday approved the deployment of the army in Islamabad and Punjab to control the situation.
“Rashatudi” news channel also reported that a number of Imran Khan’s supporters demonstrated in some American cities on Wednesday in support of him.
The Pakistani army has announced that after the arrest of Imran Khan, there were organized attacks on army facilities and anti-army slogans were raised.
