Russia: Syrian defense shoots down all Israeli missiles.
Russia’s Defense Ministry says the Syrian air defense system has destroyed all four missiles fired by Israeli fighter jets.
“On the morning of July 22, two Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired four guided missiles at areas in the Syrian province of Homs,” said Vadim Colt, deputy director of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria.
He added that all the missiles fired by Israeli fighters were intercepted and destroyed by Syrian Armed Forces defense missiles equipped with Russian Buk M2E missiles.
Local sources in Syria reported on Thursday morning that the country’s air defenses were facing offensive targets in the skies of Homs. Al-Arabiya quoted sources as saying that al-Shairat air base in Homs had been targeted by airstrikes.
“Our air defenses have been firing rockets fired by Israel into the skies of the western suburbs of Homs and have shot down a number of them,” the official Syrian news agency said in a statement.
This was the second night in a row that Syrian territory was targeted by the Zionist regime. On Wednesday morning, the official Syrian news agency reported that the Zionist regime had attacked an area south of Aleppo, and Syrian television reported that the country’s air defenses had repelled the Zionist regime’s aggression.
