Russia: Iran plays a major role in normalizing the situation in the region.
Welcoming Iran’s full membership in the SCO, a senior Russian diplomat said Saturday morning that Iran has a key role to play in normalizing the situation in the region.
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s envoy to Vienna-based international organizations, welcomed Iran’s full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Saturday morning.
Reacting to the news of Iran’s membership in the organization, Ulyanov wrote: “Good news, which is one of the happiest. In international relations, new rights and opportunities are associated with certain responsibilities. “In the current situation, Iran has a major role to play in normalizing the situation in the region, including through the full revival of the UN Security Council.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, announced on Friday, September 17, that the document of Iran’s permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was approved by the leaders.
Amir Abdullahian wrote on his Twitter page: “With full satisfaction, now the permanent membership document of J. ا. “Iran was approved by the leaders in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Dushanbe in the presence of our esteemed president.”
He added: “This strategic membership has an important impact on the process of comprehensive cooperation between Iran in the direction of neighborhood and Asia-oriented policy.”
The 21st SCO Summit kicked off today (Friday, September 26) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, with the participation of the leaders of 12 member and observer countries, including Ayatollah Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In addition to the Tajik president, the regional summit is attended by the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and the presidents of Russia, China, India and Mongolia also attended the summit. .
