Russia increases the quota for students from Central Asian countries
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia said: This country will increase the admission quota for students from Central Asian countries in the academic year 2023-2024.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galozhin said at the 3rd Central Asia Conference of Valday International Dialogue Club: This country will increase the number of quotas for students from countries in this region in the 2023-2024 academic year.
Galozhin said: In the 2023-2024 academic year, we will significantly increase the admission quota of students from Central Asian countries.
According to him, currently about 185 thousand students from Central Asian countries study in Russia, of which about 68 thousand students study with the budget of this country.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia added: Branches of leading Russian universities are to be opened in a number of Central Asian countries in the near future.
He emphasized: In Kyrgyzstan, it is planned to have branches of leading Russian universities such as Lomonosov State University, Kazan Federal University and Higher School of Economics, and in Uzbekistan, Russian University for Humanities, Moscow State University of Geodesy and Mapping. and North Caucasus Federal University to be opened.
The Russian official continued: The project of establishing a joint university of Russia and Turkmenistan in Ashgabat is in the coordination stage.
All this will be added to the 25 branches of our university that are currently operating in Central Asia, Galazhin stated.
