Russia, China and India emphasize on Syria’s sovereignty and independence.
The foreign ministers of Russia, China, and India reaffirmed their commitment to Syria’s independence and sovereignty, and to its support for the Syrian-led political process.
The foreign ministers of Russia, China and India reiterated in a statement on Friday their commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and independence.
“There is no military solution to the conflict in Syria,” the three countries’ foreign ministers said in a statement, according to the Tass news agency.
The three countries also “stressed their support for the Syrian-led and Syrian-controlled political process, with the assistance of the United Nations, in full compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.”
In this regard, the Foreign Ministers of Russia, China and India stressed the importance of the role of the Constitutional Committee in Geneva, which was established with the decisive participation of the countries guaranteeing the Astana process (Russia, Iran and Turkey) and other countries involved.
The statement also stressed the need to provide uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people in order to rebuild the country.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned: “I urge the Kurds not to succumb to the seditions that our American counterparts continue to have in their relations with. “[The United States] is leading this case to incite separatist tendencies in the east of the Syrian Arab Republic.”
“[The United States] is trying to turn these plans into serious tensions that are against the interests of preserving Syria’s unity,” Lavrov added. “These are dangerous games that could lead to a very serious flare-up of the Kurdish problem in the whole region, given that its dimensions include not only Syria, but other countries as well.”
