Dividing the role of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the United States for instability in Iraq.
Iraqi sources examined the Iraqi prime minister’s visits to Saudi Arabia and the UAE shortly before the strategic talks between Washington and Baghdad, pointing to their hidden goals.
Muhammad al-Baldawi, a member of the Fatah coalition in the Iraqi parliament, warned of Washington’s efforts to maintain its forces in Iraq.
He added: “Washington seeks to maintain its presence in Iraq in any way.” The United States is taking advantage of Iraq’s position in the region and is seeking to ensure that its forces do not withdraw from Iraq, and this is an issue that is clear to all Iraqi political groups.
Al-Baldawi stressed that al-Kadhimi’s government must implement a parliamentary resolution calling for the withdrawal of foreign troops and not allow Washington to keep its forces in Iraq.
On the other hand, “Sabah Al-Taie”, an Iraqi political analyst, stated: “Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi went to the UAE on an unannounced visit after his visit to Saudi Arabia, and the nature and goals of this trip and its results have not been determined.”
He added: “Al-Kadhimi’s visit to Saudi Arabia and the UAE was shortly before the strategic talks with the American side, and it is unlikely this distance between these events will be accidental.”
Al-Taie said: “There are many questions about Al-Kadhimi’s talks with the officials of the two countries or the real purpose of these trips that took place before the talks with the United States, especially since the United States seeks to keep its forces in Iraq and Saudi Arabia and the UAE are strong supporters.” Terrorism is in Iraq.
He added: “It is no coincidence that terrorist acts will increase in the future in order to maintain the presence of American forces in Iraq.”
At the same time, representatives and Iraqi security forces warned of plans to remove the popular mobilization and the Iraqi security forces from Sinjar and hand it over to forces other than the central government, and warned of Kurdish domination of Sinjar for political deals.
“Mohammad Ibrahim,” a representative of the Fatah coalition, said: “Residents of Sinjar are opposed to the presence of forces other than central government forces, as well as the withdrawal of popular mobilization forces from their lands and the Kurdish domination of Sinjar.”
