Resistance’s victory and America’s failure to overthrow the Syrian regime.
Yesterday, May 7, 2023, after 12 years of sanctions on Syria and the suspension of this country’s membership in the said union, the Arab League agreed to return the seat of Damascus to it. The union also decided to resume the participation of Syrian government delegations in all its meetings and its affiliated institutions from this date.
The competition of Arab countries to return to Syria
Also, in the statement of the Arab League for this purpose, the need to take practical and effective steps to gradually solve the Syrian crisis in line with Security Council Resolution No. 2254, which provides the possibility of sending humanitarian aid to the people of this country, is emphasized. Damascus also accepted the decisions of the Arab League and announced that the positive interactions that are taking place in the region will be in the interest of all countries and in line with the interests, stability, security and prosperity of the entire region.
This happened while many Arab countries were still under pressure from America to prevent Syria from returning to the Arab League. Also, last March, the United States, England, France, Germany, and Italy issued a joint statement emphasizing that they do not support efforts to normalize relations with Syria.
Also, the United States called Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s visit to the UAE in March “disappointing and disappointing” and said that the invitation to al-Assad was an attempt to legitimize him.
