Republican Senator: “We may impeach Biden.”
A U.S. senator has said that if Republicans win a majority in the midterm elections in the midterm elections, they are likely to impeach Biden in retaliation for the Democratic vote in favor of Trump’s impeachment twice.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz says Republicans could impeach Joe Biden if Republicans can win back a Democratic majority in midterm elections this year.
“If we get the House of Representatives, which I said is very likely, I think we’re going to see a serious investigation by the Biden administration,” the senator said in the last episode of his podcast, “Sentencing Ted Cruz.”
Stressing that there is a possibility, he added that Democrats have turned impeachment into a weapon, according to the Hill news website.
“They (the Democrats) used it (interpellation) for partisan purposes to pursue Trump because they opposed him,” he said. One of the real disadvantages of doing this is that the more you turn it into a weapon and a party stick, you know it will retaliate.
The hardline Republican senator went on to say that there were several reasons for Biden’s impeachment, adding that “perhaps the most compelling one is the absolute illegality of President Biden in refusing to strengthen the border.” His decision to disobey federal immigration laws and allow two million people to come here unhindered is a direct violation of his obligations under Article 2 of the Constitution to ensure proper enforcement of the laws.
“This is probably the strongest ground for interrogation right now, but there may be other cases,” Cruz said. Since the Democrats decided that this was just another tool in the party war toolbox, I think there is a real danger that this turnaround is a fair game.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment from Till Cruz.
