Reopening of Turkish schools in Saudi Arabia.
After the meetings of the senior officials of Riyadh and Ankara in recent months, the Ministry of Education of Turkey talks about the agreement between the two countries in order to reopen Turkish schools in Saudi Arabia.
According to the report of Tasnim International News Agency, the Ministry of Education of Turkey has announced the resumption of activities of schools under the supervision of this ministry in Saudi Arabia. The activity of the mentioned schools had been stopped since the end of the 2020-2021 academic year.
In the statement of the Ministry of Education of Turkey, it is emphasized that the reopening of the mentioned schools was a result of the diplomatic contacts of the Turkish government and the initiative of this ministry.
This statement also referred to the meeting and consultation of the education ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of the educational reform summit held in early July in Paris.
While the relations between Riyadh and Ankara had turned cold since October 2018 after the controversy over the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, in recent months, they have improved in the shadow of numerous meetings between the two countries’ senior officials.
