Last night, Ofogh News Agency reporter Javid Yousefi was attacked by unidentified gunmen in Kabul’s 13th security district on his way home and was seriously injured.
Yousefi said he had no personal enmity with anyone, and that gunmen had stolen his personal belongings, including money and cell phones.
“There were four people chasing me and two people attacked me and stabbed me in the shoulder,” he said. “I was bleeding profusely.”
“The intelligence sector is everyone’s right, and this is not a crime against journalists or in conflict with the government,” said journalist Behnoud Behnoud.
At the same time, Faisal Nouri, a correspondent for the Pishgoo News Agency and a representative of the Free Journalists Association in Kunduz province, was arrested by the local administration for unknown reasons yesterday and was released after several hours of interrogation.
