“Ramzi al-Aswad”; The mastermind who made Israelis frustrated.
In 1995, elements of the Zionist intelligence service (Mossad) targeted Fathi Shaghaghi, the founder of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement. The Zionists were very excited about the assassination of Fathi Shaghaghi because they considered this martyr a danger to their regime.
On March 19, 2023, Mossad elements martyred Ramzi al-Aswad, one of the commanders of Quds Battalions, the military branch of the Islamic Jihad movement, by firing 30 bullets and 4 stab wounds when he left his home near Damascus.
It was after this operation that the elements who martyred al-Aswad were rewarded. Both operations are very different from each other in terms of time, but they show one thing; The Zionist regime thought that it had extinguished the flame of resistance in the Islamic Jihad movement with the assassination of Fathi Shaghaqi, but the assassination of al-Aswad showed that this process is not beneficial to them and the tree of resistance is still watered with the blood of martyrs.
Martyr al-Aswad was born in 1948 in the city of Haifa, located inside the occupied territories of Palestine, and at the same time, he immigrated to Syria with his family and settled in the Elimuk camp in Damascus.
One of the relatives of the martyr said in a conversation with Mehr News Agency: Engineer Al-Aswad was 31 years old. He joined the Islamic Jihad fighters in 2005 when he was 14 years old.
He continued: During the crisis in Syria, al-Aswad was taken out of the Elirmuk camp and transferred to Damascus and its suburbs. He attended many military courses and after graduation, he focused on building and upgrading missiles and drones.
This source emphasized: Martyr al-Aswad, after being elected as one of the leaders of Saraya al-Quds battalions, took actions that had a great impact on the process of fighting against the Zionist enemy. Qasim missile and Janin drone are two important works of this martyr before his martyrdom. His cooperation with the engineers of the Jenin Battalion and other West Bank battalions was extensive.
He added: The manner in which Ramzi al-Aswad was martyred by Mossad elements shows the strong hatred and anger that Tel Aviv had for the actions of this noble martyr. Everyone who knew Ramzi al-Aswad called him “living martyr”.
The relatives of this martyr announced that a few days before the assassination operation, he was talking about a dream in which he saw himself as a martyr.
After al-Aswad’s martyrdom, Quds Battalions announced in a statement: This mujahid hero joined Al-Quds Battalions at a young age and had always made the liberation of his homeland Palestine his main goal. We consider the Zionist enemy to be the cause of this cowardly terror and we will give an appropriate response to each of his crimes.
The Islamic Jihad Movement announced: This movement will continue its struggles with the aim of defending the Holy Land of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Hamas movement also announced in a statement: The assassination of Martyr Al-Asud in the suburbs of Damascus is a new Zionist crime that will not stop the Palestinian nation from continuing the path of resistance until the liberation of their land and return to it.
