Qatar’s comments on problems before and after US withdrawal say is “Afghanistan’s current government is temporary”
A Qatari foreign ministry spokesman stressed that the country wants an inclusive government in Afghanistan that includes all segments of the country’s population.
“The current Afghan government is temporary and is in place to maintain order in the country,” Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Lulu al-Khater was quoted as saying by Al-Arabi television. It is important to maintain this system, and this is the approach that the Taliban will follow. We look forward to forming a government in Afghanistan that represents all segments of the population.
“Qatar’s role in Afghanistan is part of the preventive diplomacy that Doha is pursuing in its regional conflicts,” he said. The principle and constitution of Doha is that it will enter into mediation only if requested by all parties, and that is what happened in the case of Afghanistan.
Al-Khater spoke about the difficulties faced by Qatar, which can be divided into two stages before and after the US withdrawal. Misinformation thought that everyone could leave Afghanistan. Applications for leaving Afghanistan were sent to the Foreign Ministry and then to the Qatari embassy in Kabul. The IDPs who arrived in Doha were housed in service areas. The second part of our problems was after the withdrawal of the United States because Kabul Airport was not ready to receive any aircraft. Many devices were destroyed inside the airport, so the technical team entered the airport from Qatar to rebuild the watchtower.
