Bandar Muhammad Abdullah Al-Attiyah.
The appointment comes just months after a reconciliation meeting between Qatar and the four countries of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.
The four Arab states, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE, cut off diplomatic relations with Qatar in 2017 under the pretext of its support for terrorism, and closed all land, air and sea crossings to the country.
But on January 4, 2021 (December 6, 1399) and after about four years of severing relations between the two countries, the forty-first meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council hosted by Saudi Arabia was held in the city of Al-Awla in the northwest of the country. This meeting became known as the reconciliation meeting of the four countries of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE and Egypt with Qatar.
