Public mourning in Gaza following the death of 21 people in the fire.
The head of the Palestinian Authority and Palestinian groups declared public mourning on Friday following the death of 21 Palestinians in a building fire in Gaza.
Palestinian sources reported that on Thursday night, 21 people died as a result of a fire in a building in the Jabalia camp located in the north of the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that medical and civil defense teams removed the bodies of 21 Palestinians, including several women and children, from the burning building.
The Ministry of Interior of Gaza also announced that preliminary investigations show that the presence of large amounts of gasoline in the building caused the fire.
Following this incident, Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority and Palestinian groups, declared public mourning today, and the Palestinian flag was flown at half-mast in official institutions.
In this regard, Tor Winsland, the special coordinator of the United Nations in the reconciliation process, expressed his condolences for the death of more than 20 people and the injuries of many others in this incident.
Since 2006, the Gaza Strip has been under the cruel siege of the Zionist regime from land, air and sea.
Today, tens of thousands of Palestinians also attended the funeral of the victims of this incident.
