Probability of Putin and Zelensky meeting in Turkey.
A member of the Kiev negotiating team said the presidents of Ukraine and Russia were likely to meet in Ankara or Istanbul.
Russian media reported on Sunday morning that Russian President Vladimir Putin might meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelinsky.
Interfax quoted a Ukrainian negotiator as saying that the meeting between Putin and Zelensky would most likely be in Turkey.
According to Reuters, quoting the report, “David Arakhamia”, a member of the Ukrainian negotiating team with Russia, explained in a television interview that the time and place of the meeting is still unknown.
Both Russia and Ukraine have described the talks as “difficult” in recent days. These talks are a combination of face-to-face meetings in Turkey and virtual meetings.
Arakhamia said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan contacted Putin and Zelensky on Friday and that they appeared ready to arrange a meeting in the near future.
“Its date or location is unknown, but we think it will most likely be in Istanbul or Ankara,” he was quoted as saying by Reuters.
Earlier, Russia’s Defense Ministry said two helicopters and 24 UAVs had been destroyed, citing the destruction of air bases in three Ukrainian cities.
