Saudi Arabia: Postponement of the trial of a prominent Saudi figure Sheikh Safar Al-Hawali.
A security source reported the deterioration of the physical condition of Sheikh “Safar al-Hawali”, a Saudi missionary inside the Saudi regime’s prisons.
The source said that the deterioration of Sheikh Al-Hawali’s physical condition prevented him from being transferred to court, and further expressed concern about the life of Sheikh Al-Hawali, who suffers from several illnesses amid medical negligence in Al-Saud prisons.
The account of the freedom of expression prisoners also announced that the trial of Sheikh Al-Hawali and members of his detained family had been postponed twice.
The Al-Hawali first trial was postponed to June 20 due to the absence of a judge, while the second was postponed to June 27 and claimed that the defendant did not attend.
Last month, the human rights organization Sindh warned of the danger to Sheikh Safar al-Hawali in Al-Saudi prisons, citing systematic violations by Saudi officials against freedom of expression prisoners.
Sheikh Safar al-Hawali and four of his sons were arrested in July 2018 for asking questions and making fiery remarks against the Al-Saud regime. Among his questions was whether the spread of bribery and corruption in the Saudi bureaucracy is one of God’s sharia rules. Many of Sheikh Havali’s supporters posted a PDF version of his book, “Muslims and Western Civilization,” on social media; The book, which has more than 3,000 pages and was written in April 2018, explicitly criticizes the Al-Saud regime; It is as if Sheikh Hawali, as his supporters say, wanted to end his life by jihad and speaking the truth against the oppressive ruler.
Sheikh al-Hawali in Al-Saud prison has deteriorated over the past two years because he is old and suffering from chronic diseases, while the prison conditions in Saudi Arabia are also very bad for a healthy person.
