Pompeo: “Bolton must be put behind the bars. I hope to testify against him one day”
According to Russia Elium, former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed his hope that one day he will testify in a criminal court against John Bolton, former US National Security Adviser.
According to this report, quoted by the Guardian, Pompeo wrote in a new memoir full of criticism of potential rivals in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries, which is to be published next week: John Bolton should be in prison for leaking classified information. And I hope one day to testify against Bolton in a criminal trial.
In another part of his memoirs, the former US Secretary of State claimed that Nikki Haley, the then US Ambassador to the United Nations, had conspired with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, Trump’s son-in-law and daughter, to appoint him as the then US Vice President.
Long-simmering tensions between top figures on President Donald Trump’s national security team have devolved into all-out hostility, creating a deep disconnect between staffers on the National Security Council, led by John Bolton, and the rest of the administration, six people familiar with the matter said.
While there’s been friction between Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for months, as CNN first reported in May, things have gotten worse recently. Bolton and Pompeo rarely speak outside of formal meetings, three of the sources said, including a recent stretch of going weeks without speaking to one another. That has left key coordination efforts between the White House and State Department to underlings.
