Although the government of the Moroccan Kingdom has recently normalized its relations with the Zionist regime, the predominant tendency of the people of this country is still anti-Zionist; As thousands of people from the country staged various protest rallies against the Zionist regime in dozens of cities on Sunday evening.
The Arab 21 news website reported, quoting the Al-Maghribiya Front for the Oppression of Palestine and Naturalization (the Front for the Support of Palestine and Anti-Normalization in Morocco), that 50 protest rallies were held in all parts of the country.
Abu al-Shatta al-Masaaf, one of the leaders of the Islamic group Adl al-Ehsan in the Maghreb, stressed that fifty cities in the country took to the streets to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Protesters chanted slogans “Gaza Gaza, the code of Izzah (Gaza, Gaza, symbol of honor)” and set fire to the flag of the Zionist regime.
The demonstrators also condemned the normalization of Moroccan relations with the regime. Morocco was the fourth Arab country, after the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan, to normalize relations with Tel Aviv in 2020. Recently, on the eve of attending the AIPAC (Zionism Lobby in the United States) meeting, the Secretary of State said that his country was ready to “cooperate fully” with Tel Aviv.
The Palestinian Front for Anti-Normalization and Anti-Normalization in the Maghreb is a coalition of a number of civil, political, and legal institutions that support the Palestinian cause and oppose normalization.
The situation in occupied Palestine from May 10 until today is very critical and tense. The story was aggravated by the fact that the Zionist militias turned the Al-Aqsa Mosque into a battlefield on the morning of May 10, coinciding with the 28th month of Ramadan, by attacking it.
Zionist militants surrounded the mosque, using sound bombs, tear gas, plastic, and even metal bullets, to target worshipers and sit-in protesters at the shrine.
