Pentagon: Ukraine can attack Crimea with American missiles.
Referring to the sending of two more missile artillery systems to Ukraine, a Pentagon official said that the Kiev military can use these systems to attack Russian targets in the Crimean Peninsula.
Despite Russia’s sharp warnings about any slippage by Ukraine to attack the Crimean Peninsula, a Pentagon official poured gasoline on the fire.
“Laura Cooper,” Assistant Deputy Secretary of Defense of the United States, said on Tuesday evening that two “Highmars” missile artillery systems made by this country are on their way to Ukraine.
“We are not the only ones supplying missile systems to Ukraine,” Cooper said during a press conference at the Pentagon. In addition to the Hymars that the United States provides to Ukraine, their number will reach 20.
About these systems, he claimed that the Hymars could help the Ukrainian military attack almost all Russian targets in the Crimean peninsula – which was annexed to Russia in a referendum.
The American official stated that the Pentagon sees no need to send the Army’s 300-kilometer-range tactical missile systems to Ukraine instead of the 80-kilometer-range Grad guided missiles.
“We estimate that they can destroy the vast majority of Russian targets on the battlefield using the Grad missiles already given to them for Hymars,” Rianavosti wrote, quoting Cooper.
Also, on Tuesday evening, US President Joe Biden, in a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced Washington’s new aid package worth 625 million dollars.
