Palestinian Lawmakers have said, holding elections in Jerusalem is the biggest answer to the “deal of the century.”
Palestinian institutions and legal entities stressed that parliamentary elections should be held in Jerusalem.
Palestinian law firms have stressed the need for parliamentary elections in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
In a press conference held in Ramallah on Monday afternoon, these institutions called for elections in the city of Quds.
According to Safa News Agency, quoting these institutions, if the Zionist regime opposes the holding of this election, it can be challenged by holding it.
“The election train has started moving and no power can stop it,” said Majid al-Aruri, a Palestinian lawyer.
“Our slogan is that we will hold the elections, and Quds is the center and the title,” al-Arouri said. “No other slogan should be used in the elections that use Quds as an excuse to defeat the elections.”
“The biggest response to the deal of the century is to hold elections in Jerusalem,” he said, noting that elections are a legal right that has been enforced for 16 years and it is time to return it to its rightful owners.
“Everyone who is waiting for Israel does not want elections,” said Shawan Jabarin, head of the Al-Haq law firm. “Elections should not depend on a particular political group or individual.”
Jabarin stressed that holding elections is a national and social necessity and is one of the dimensions of the modernization of the Palestinian system.
He said in the end that the elections should be held in Al-Quds, that the Zionist regime should not wait for the elections to take place, but that it should be involved everywhere.
