Palestinians have condemned Israel’s move to prevent a call to prayer on the first day of Ramadan as a racist crime.
Nabil Abu Rudeina, a spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, called the move hostile and aggressive and warned of its consequences. He said such policies can turn the current conflict into an overt religious war. Abu Rudeina said the Israeli measure has been a blatant violation of human rights that can undermine the foundations of peace and security. On Tuesday, Israeli forces cut off the loudspeakers of al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem al-Quds, to prevent the nighttime call to prayer. Palestinian authorities called on the Jordanian ambassador in Israel to express their strong protest against the Zionist regime’s action.
Zionist regime officials turned off and cut off the speakers of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening to prevent the call to prayer for Isha and Taraweeh prayers from these speakers on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, a few days before the start of the holy month of Ramadan in Palestine, nearly 7,000 Palestinians voluntarily prepared the Al-Aqsa Mosque to receive worshipers during the holy month of Ramadan in a coordinated action with the Ministry of Islamic Endowments. This mosque also hosted worshipers last year, despite the outbreak of the corona during the holy month of Ramadan, and Muslims spread Iftar tables and offer vows in the area of this holy place.
According to the peace agreement between Jordan and the Zionist regime, Al-Aqsa Mosque has been under the administration of the Islamic Endowments of Jerusalem since 1994, and this place is only for the worship of Muslims.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the Israeli police action was accompanied by a protest from the Quds Islamic Endowment Office and called on the Jordanian ambassador to occupied Palestine to express his strong protest against the Israeli authorities’ action.
Palestinian Authority spokesman Nabil Abu Ordina condemned the Zionist police racist crime and warned of the consequences of this hostile and aggressive policy, which could turn the current conflict into a blatant religious war and undermine the foundations of international peace and security. He blamed the occupying government for this.
