In London, the British Foreign Secretary met with his Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and their main focus was on regional issues and developments in Afghanistan.
According to Mehr News Agency, British Foreign Secretary Liz Terrace met with her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in London.
The news was announced by the British Foreign Office on its official website, adding that during the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation in Afghanistan.
The Pakistani and British Foreign Ministers also discussed the international community’s co-operation in taking a coordinated approach to Afghanistan, and stressed in a unified position that Afghanistan should not become a safe haven for terrorists.
The need to provide humanitarian assistance to ordinary people in Afghanistan, as well as the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the field of economy, and the need for practical action to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment were other issues discussed during the meeting.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister will meet with his British counterpart in London before attending the UN General Assembly in New York.
Feeling deeply humiliated after two decades of occupying Afghanistan, Britain has previously claimed that it is ready to re-invade Afghanistan under the pretext of confronting the terrorist group ISIS.
However, Tobias Wood, chairman of the British Parliamentary Defense Committee, referred to the developments in Afghanistan and said that the policy of the United States and its allies in West Asia was shameful and humiliating. Al-Wood said at the same time as the last British military plane left Afghanistan that Britain no longer had the capacity to address the challenges it had faced over the past two weeks.
