According to Reuters, Pakistan has been clearing one of the most important border crossings in the southwest of the country since Monday, which is controlled by the Afghan Taliban.
According to Pakistani customs officials, with the arrival of 100 trucks carrying goods to Afghanistan, the Spin Boldak-Chaman customs, which had been closed since the beginning of this month due to the escalation of clashes between the Taliban and Afghan forces; resumed its activities.
Spin Boldak-Chaman Customs has been under the control of Taliban members for the past two weeks. Explaining the reason for the reopening of the border crossing, it is said that the government of Islamabad has been under pressure from traders.
At the same time, the Afghan Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday that it had lost about 2.7 billion afghanis in customs revenue in the past month.
For the past month, the Kabul government has not controlled the customs of Islam Qala, Turghandi, Abu Nasr Farahi, Spin Boldak, Aykhanum, Dandaptan and Sher Khan Bandar, and about half of the customs revenues have not been transferred to the government treasury during this period.
