Pakistan expressed solidarity with the Iraqi people and government.
The Pakistani government on Thursday expressed its condolences to the people and government of the Republic of Iraq over the deaths of a number of Iraqi citizens in a hospital fire.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing its condolences over the loss of valuable lives and injuries to others in the tragic fire at a hospital in the city of Nasiriyah.
“The government and people of Pakistan express their sincere condolences to their Iraqi brothers and ask God Almighty to be patient with the families of the victims,” the statement said.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry added that the country stands by the people and government of Iraq in such a difficult and sad situation.
A fire last Monday killed 92 people and injured more than 100 in the quarantine ward of the Imam Hussein Teaching Hospital in the southern Iraqi province of Dhi Qar.
