According to Al-Ahd, Palestinian resistance groups issued a joint statement reacting to the visit of Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid to Bahrain and the opening of the regime’s embassy in Manama.
“The opening of the Tel Aviv embassy in Bahrain was a crime against the Palestinian people,” Palestinian resistance groups said in a joint statement, condemning the Al-Khalifa officials’ reception of the Israeli foreign minister, according to the report.
“As the nation of Bahrain is also an anti-Zionist nation, the opening of the Tel Aviv embassy in Manama was also a crime against the Bahrainis,” the statement said. This strange insistence by Al-Khalifa officials to continue the path of normalization of relations shows the peak of their moral decline.
The Palestinian resistance groups also stated that Al-Khalifa’s decision to give the green light to open the Israeli embassy in Manama is in conflict with all the principles and values of the Islamic Ummah, which are based on the need to liberate Jerusalem.
Yesterday, Al-Wefaq reported that the Palestinian flag was hoisted near the Israeli embassy in Bahrain. The group declared that the Bahraini youth had taken such an action. Bahraini youths raised the flag near the Israeli embassy in protest of the recent visit of Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and in support of the Palestinian cause.
In addition, Bahraini activists reported that Al-Khalifa security forces fired tear gas at protesters during Lapid’s trip. The people of Bahrain held a demonstration in protest of the visit of the Israeli Foreign Minister.
Hazem Qasim, a spokesman for the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement, also said that hosting an Israeli official in Bahrain was unacceptable. The Hamas member added: “The fact is that the Bahraini government officials’ reception of the foreign minister of the occupying Zionist regime is a crime against the interests of the Islamic Ummah.”
