No one has invited “Macron” to visit Morocco!
An official source in the Moroccan government emphasized in a conversation with the al-Maghrib al-Arabi news agency: The news published about the upcoming visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Morocco is not included in the government’s schedule and no planning has been done in this regard.
He further added: We are surprised by the words of the French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna in this regard. This move is a unilateral action and the French Foreign Minister has given himself the right to talk about a bilateral issue without consultation.
In a conversation with the country’s BFM channel, the French foreign minister claimed that Macron was visiting the country at the invitation of King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
These words were raised after knowledgeable sources reported that the king of Morocco rejected the call of the French president and did not accept the aid of Paris after the terrible earthquake in this country.
Not long ago, Macron, who was on his plane on the way to the capital of India to participate in the G20 meeting, made a phone call and asked to speak to the king of Morocco to express his condolences after the terrible earthquake in this country, but Mohammed VI did not answer him.
Pierre Vermeerin, a historian and professor at the Sorbonne University, believes that this action by the Kingdom of Morocco is a “clear political sign” of the coldness of relations between the two countries.
The announcement of the acceptance of aid by four countries, namely Spain, Qatar, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates, to the victims of the Moroccan earthquake has caused the news media to point out more than ever the political tension between Morocco and France, because France had emphasized its determination to send humanitarian aid to this country, but He did not receive a response from the Moroccan authorities. News media reported that Morocco’s move comes as the two countries have witnessed tensions in their political relations over the past two years.
The terrible earthquake in Morocco has so far left nearly three thousand dead and six thousand injured. During this terrible earthquake, 50,000 residential units were destroyed in different regions of Morocco.
