Niger’s junta orders the French ambassador to leave the country.
According to Al Jazeera, the leaders of Niger’s military council, who are leading the coup against the former government of this country, asked the French ambassador to leave Niamey within the next 48 hours.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Niger stated that the reason for this request was the actions of the French government, which is in conflict with the interests of Niger.
This is the deadline for Niger’s military council while the head of the Economic Community of West African States, known as ECOWAS, announced this Friday that this group has no decision to attack Niger and will try all ways to return the legal system to this country. However, the military option is still on the table.
He continued: The military in Niger should immediately return to their barracks and adhere to the legal mission assigned to them.
The head of Equas emphasized that the group will never accept the three-year plan proposed by the military council and will soon announce the next measures.
