Netherlands Complicates the killing of civilians in Afghanistan.
The Dutch government announced that it will not object to the court verdict regarding the bombing of a residential building by the country’s military in 2007.
According to reports, 20 civilians were killed in the Dutch military attack.
This attack was carried out in “Choreh” area of Uruzgan province. The survivors of this attack filed a complaint against the Dutch government.
In November, the local court of The Hague, while condemning the attack of Dutch soldiers in Uruzgan province, condemned the government of this country to pay compensation.
The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands had said in its defense that when the army of this country attacked the walled area known as “Koala”, the Taliban fighters had taken a stronghold there.
On the other hand, at the time of the attack, about 12 hours had passed since the Taliban had taken a stronghold in this building. The judges also came to the conclusion that the army at that time chose this building as the target of the military attack without having enough information.
The payment of damages to the survivors of the attack in Uruzgan has not yet been determined.
The British media “Mirror” recently wrote that the interim government of the Taliban is demanding the payment of billions of pounds in compensation from Britain and other NATO member countries due to the 20-year war in Afghanistan.
Noor Mohammad Mutawakkul, a member of the Taliban’s cultural commission, told “Mirror”: England is ready to pay us war reparations, and we also welcome it. Other countries involved in the war should also be ready to pay compensation.
