Netanyahu has been widely criticized inside Israel, with a newspaper describing his call for protests in front of the judiciary as a call to attack the US Congress.
Israeli media quoted officials saying on Monday that Netanyahu’s call was a “reminder of the protesters’ call for a siege of the capital”, citing an attack on former US President Donald Trump supporters.
During a meeting with business owners, Netanyahu claimed during the election that Israeli Attorney General Oikhay Mandeblit was blocking the passage of the bailout plan because of its timing ahead of the election. “Come to the Ministry of Justice with all your friends,” Netanyahu told an attendee.
“They say this is an electoral economic plan,” Yedioth Ahronoth quoted Netanyahu’s saying. How rude is it they don’t give them to us? ”
“We have a plan to motivate workers to return to work,” he added. “Judicial advisers and Gantzians (according to Benny Gantz) do not allow this to happen in any way.”
“In all cases, the aim is to incite against mandating.” Yedioth Ahronoth was quoted as saying by a judicial official.
