According to Tasnim International Group, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Washington last night and said that Israel has no more reliable ally than the United States.
According to Reuters, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also said during the meeting: “We want to face common crises and challenges with Israel, especially regarding the Iranian nuclear issue.”
During his visit to the United States, Naftali Bennett is also scheduled to meet today (Thursday) with US President Joe Biden.
In this regard, a US official said that Washington is still committed to pursuing a diplomatic path with Iran, but if this option fails, there are other options.
The US official stressed that Biden would meet with Bennett to reject any request from the Israeli side to suspend the US government’s efforts to revive the nuclear deal.
According to Israeli officials, Naftali Bennett has decided to formally raise his concerns about Iran during his visit to Washington and meet with Biden, and to ask Biden to prioritize issues related to Iran.
This is Naftali Bennett’s first visit to Washington since taking office as Israeli Prime Minister.
