Moscow: Ukraine’s accession to NATO accelerates World War III.
The deputy of the Russian National Security Council warned that Ukraine’s request to join NATO will accelerate the start of the third world war.
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy of the Russian National Security Council, warned on Friday about Ukraine joining NATO.
In his words, he said: “Zelensky’s request to join (Ukraine) in NATO is to accelerate the start of the third world war.”
On Friday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky officially requested to accelerate the country’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty.
He also said that as long as Putin is the president of Russia, Ukraine will not negotiate with Moscow.
This action takes place after Putin officially signed the annexation document of 4 regions from Ukraine to Russia on Friday evening.
He said at the signing ceremony of the annexation documents of the new regions to Russia: “People have made their choice. “Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye have a common fate with Russia.” He added that the people of these areas will become Russian citizens forever.
The referendum on joining these regions to Russia started on Friday (September 23) and continued until September 27 (May 5). According to Reuters, the regions of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia together make up about 15% of the territory of Ukraine.
