Morocco and the Zionist regime signed joint agreements in the fields of politics, culture and tourism today, Wednesday.
“The resumption of our relations with Israel reflects the desire of King Mohammed VI to revive the mechanisms of cooperation between Morocco and Israel,” Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Burita was quoted as saying in a joint news conference with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
“The King of Morocco considers the talks to be the only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on a two-state solution, and there is a strong need to restore trust between the Israelis and the Palestinians and preserve the principle of a two-state solution,” Burita said.
The Moroccan foreign minister noted that King Mohammed VI emphasized the special nature of Jerusalem as a common human heritage and three heavenly religions, and that Morocco endorsed a swift return to serious and direct talks between Israelis and Palestinians.
Lapid also praised the King of Morocco’s views on bilateral relations.
“Friendship with Morocco is based on communication and efforts to resolve disputes,” the Israeli foreign minister told a news conference.
