Pence went on to criticize Biden, saying the Taliban had captured Kabul because they realized there was no potential military threat from the United States.
Referring to the events surrounding the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the capture of the US spy nest in Tehran, Mike Pence said that the humiliation and disgrace in US foreign policy on leaving Afghanistan was even more humiliating and worse than the seizure of the US embassy in Iran.
Pence: If the previous government was in power, the Taliban would not do that

Following the February 2020 agreement between the United States and the Taliban and the signing of a so-called “peace agreement” between the two sides, the process of withdrawing US troops and allies from Afghanistan began.
In recent weeks, the Taliban have succeeded in advancing on Afghanistan and capturing key cities, and finally took power in Kabul on August 15, forcing Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to step down and leave the country.
