Mahmoud Abbas: The whole Arab world is happy with the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The head of the Palestinian Authority stated that the whole Arab world is happy with the improvement of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia.
“Mahmoud Abbas”, the head of the Palestinian Authority, in an interview with “CGTN” channel, while appreciating China’s role in improving relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia, emphasized that the entire Arab world is happy with the restoration of good relations between Tehran and Riyadh.
Following the agreement of Iran and Saudi Arabia on March 19 in Beijing, the two sides agreed on the resumption of diplomatic relations after seven years and three months, and it was decided that the foreign ministers will meet after that, which will be held on April 17, and a joint statement will be issued. And it emphasized the readiness to remove the obstacles to the expansion of cooperation.
In an interview with this Chinese network, Abbas pointed out China’s role in improving relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia and stated: “The success of the China-Arab meeting sent a very important signal. We are very pleased to find that China is currently facilitating progress in Arab affairs through this meeting, and we hope that China’s role in this regard will continue.”
The head of the Palestinian Authority also emphasized: “We hope that the China-Arab meeting will be institutionalized.”
He then pointed to the improvement of relations between Riyadh and Tehran and said: “China’s action in reconciling Iran and Saudi Arabia is something that many countries failed to achieve. The differences between Riyadh and Tehran were long and serious, and no country was successful in solving these differences, but thanks to China’s goodwill in interacting with these two countries, a miracle was created.
Referring to these cases, Mahmoud Abbas stated: “I consider the reconciliation between Iran and Saudi Arabia a miracle, and the whole Arab world welcomes it, and we are also pleased with China’s role in this process.”

In this meeting, Amir Abdollahian, referring to the two previous joint meetings and talks between the two ministers in Beijing and Cape Town, considered the visit of the Saudi Foreign Minister to Tehran as a positive step in the direction of completing the previous correct steps of the two countries to move forward and open a new page in the relations between the two neighboring countries.
