London’s biggest airport security officers call for summer strike.
Security officers at London’s Heathrow Airport have been on strike for 31 days from late June to late August to kick off a new round of summer strikes in the UK.
The summer strike by London Heathrow airport security officers will lead to 31 days of flight delays and cancellations and long queues for passengers at the airport.
According to the “Associated Press” news agency, the “Unite” trade union is organizing this 31-day strike in the period from June 24 to August 27.

The United trade union announced that the employees of this union “rejected a 10.1 percent salary increase offer that is below the inflation rate.” The union has announced a “major escalation” with Heathrow airport officials over workers’ pay.
The research conducted by this union showed that since 2017, the average salary of Heathrow Airport employees has decreased by 24% in real terms.
Sharon Graham, general secretary of the union Unite, said the strike at Heathrow Airport will continue until airport managers “offer fair pay”.
The 31-day strike by security officers at Heathrow Airport coincides with some important events and holidays that lead to increased air travel and disruption to travel.
A spokesman for Heathrow Airport told the BBC that the airport will do everything it can to minimize disruption.
These security officers have gone on strike in recent months to coincide with several other occasions, including the Easter holidays and the coronation of Charles III, the new King of England.
In December 2022, the British authorities were forced to recruit army personnel in response to the strike by border guards at airports across the country.
Following the record-breaking rate of inflation in England in the past year, several rounds of strikes by troops and employees of various departments, including nurses and train drivers, were implemented in this country.
