The senior Russian diplomat pointed out that Moscow has to always warn the West about the military and political dangers of this issue because it believes that a nuclear war will not have a winner.
He noted that the 5 nuclear powers of the world have emphasized in a joint statement on January 3, 2020, that a nuclear war should never start.
He added: “In this context, at the current stage, the most important task for each of the nuclear powers is to adhere to these understandings and show maximum restraint.”
Lavrov’s statement comes after the media reported that the United States has allowed two countries to send F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv.
A US official said early Friday that the White House had agreed to the delivery of F-16 fighter jets by the Netherlands and Denmark to Kyiv after the completion of a training program for Ukrainian pilots to fly the warplanes.
