Kissinger: Ukraine to end the war; Moscow’s provocation has serious consequences for Europe.
The former US Secretary of State warned at the Davos summit about the consequences of continuing the war in Ukraine and called on Kiev to end the war.
Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, a senior geopolitical expert, has said that Ukraine must accept the transfer of part of its territory to Russia and end the war.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Monday, the 98-year-old politician stressed that not starting talks with Russia and continuing provocative policies against Moscow could have catastrophic long-term consequences for European stability.
“Negotiations need to start within the next two months, before the war leads to tensions and movements that cannot be overcome,” he said.
Henry Kissinger added: “Ideally, the dotted line should be a return to the status quo ante. “Continuing the war beyond this point will not be about the liberation of Ukraine, but a new war against Russia.”
Kissinger, who served as US Secretary of State under Richard Nixon and Richard Ford in the 1970s, warned against continuing the war and called for talks with Russia.
The former US Secretary of State emphasized that Russia has been an integral part of Europe for the past 400 years and has acted as a balancing force at critical times. Kissinger said Western countries should remember Russia’s importance in Europe.
