King of Jordan: The international community should be concerned about the difficult lives of the Lebanese and Palestinian people.
In a speech to the UN General Assembly, the King of Jordan called on the international community to provide immediate assistance to the Lebanese and Palestinian people, who are facing difficult living conditions.
King Abdullah II of Jordan stressed that based on the custody of the Hashemite family over the city of Jerusalem, Jordan is trying to preserve the historical and legal status of the city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

“More than 5.7 million Palestinians are living in difficult living conditions, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East must be given immediate support,” said Abdullah II.
“The war in Gaza has shown us that the current situation in the Palestinian territories is unbearable,” he said.
He added: “I believe that it is possible and even necessary that the Holy Quds bring together Muslims, Christians and Jews, and that the holy city can be a symbol of unity and not division with international efforts.”
Regarding the situation in Lebanon, Abdullah II said: “Lebanon is facing a difficult humanitarian and economic situation that has affected the lives of millions of citizens.” There are families in Lebanon who are deprived of their daily strength. Homes that have no electricity and companies that are unable to operate.
He stressed: “In these difficult circumstances, the Lebanese people need our full support to be able to get out of this crisis, and therefore the international community must have a careful plan with the participation of all to help resolve the Lebanese crisis.”
