King of Jordan: Supporting Jerusalem and its sanctuaries is a priority for Jordan.
While announcing his support for the Palestinian cause, the King of Jordan stressed that the Zionist regime must stop all acts of tension and lawlessness that are causing tensions.
Jordan’s King Abdullah II stressed on Sunday that the Zionist regime must respect the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed newspaper quoted the King of Jordan as saying that regional and international contacts and efforts are underway to stop the Zionist regime’s tense actions and to adopt an international stance to put pressure on it.
“Maintaining a comprehensive ceasefire requires that Israel respect the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and create a real political horizon that meets all the legal rights of the Palestinian people based on a two-state solution,” he said.
Stating that supporting Jerusalem and its sanctuaries would be a priority for Jordan, Abdullah II instructed the government to do everything in its power to preserve the historic status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its Arab, Islamic and Christian identities.
The King of Jordan also stressed that the Zionist regime must stop all acts of tension and lawlessness that are causing tensions.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian people held demonstrations in different parts of the country last night for the second night in a row, in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Hundreds of these people staged a sit-in in front of the Israeli embassy in Amman, condemning the Zionist aggression.
Protesters also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, calling for the “expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Jordan and the closure of the regime’s embassy.” They stressed that they will continue to support the Palestinian cause and the rights of its people.
