The senior US senator Chris Murphy said that murdering Palestinian children would not guarantee the security of the Zionist regime and warned the regime about launching a ground attack on Gaza.
Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy on Thursday warned of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and called for a lasting ceasefire in occupied Palestine.
“Both sides in the Occupied Palestinian Territories are to blame for the recent events,” Murphy said in a virtual conference.
“The United States has also played a role in increasing tensions,” the senior US senator said. [Donald] Trump effectively rejected the role of the United States as a mediator for peace, causing the two sides to become increasingly distant from each other. Now the focus should be on fire extinguishers. Hamas must stop rocket attacks and Israel must remove the option of a ground attack from the table. “Israel has the power to destroy Gaza, but killing children will not guarantee its security and, on the contrary, will fuel violence.”
“I was in the Middle East for five days with Joe Biden’s government officials, and overall I have to say that the situation is moving in a positive direction,” said the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, without mentioning Joe Biden’s unilateral support for the Zionist regime. And this is because of his policy of de-escalation in the region. But the bad news is that if the United States does not return to Burjam, these developments will be lost. “Biden sought to revive Burjam because he knew it was vital to American security.”
“I see the roots of positive change in the region,” Murphy said. “Although they are calm and slow and can hardly be seen from the perspective of recent rocket attacks, the best way to make these changes is to return to JCPOA.”
“The United States must return to its mediating role [in occupied Palestine],” he said, claiming that countries that have compromised with the Zionist regime can help make peace. Our discussions are still centered on a two-state solution. “Some in Palestine believe that this solution has become impossible, but we must work for it.”
