Kiev official: Westerners should test their weapons in Ukraine.
While expressing his hope of receiving tanks and fighters from his western allies, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine said that the western governments can test them in this country by presenting their weapons to Kiev.
Oleksiy Reznikov, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, on Tuesday evening, invited the Western countries to test them in this country by providing their weapons to Kiev, while pushing back the Russian forces.
In a detailed interview with “Paltico” newspaper, Reznikov said, while expressing his hope of receiving new and stronger weapons from Western countries: “I am really optimistic that it is possible to receive Abrams tanks in the future, and I am sure that fighters such as F-16, F-15 will be produced America or Sweden’s Gripen should also be available [to Ukraine].”
Stating that America initially refused to provide Ukraine with Stinger missiles, but only a few months later, Lithuania delivered the first shipment of these missiles to Kyiv with Washington’s permission, he said: “So in my opinion, if we were told Something is impossible, which means it will become possible in the future.
According to this report, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine also stated that in order to persuade Western countries to send more and more advanced weapons to Kyiv, Western governments can test them in this country by providing their weapons to Kyiv.
Reznikov told Politico that if Ukraine uses Western weapons, it will not only help to push back Russian forces from the occupied territories, but it is also a way for the same countries to use their equipment against the Russian army, which until recently was considered the second largest and most powerful army in the world. They could have tested.
He explained: “We have a field for combat testing in Ukraine during the war [with Russia]. I think all [Western] countries see how we use their weapons, we have eight different types of 155 mm artillery systems on the battlefield… So it’s a competition between weapons systems.”
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine is trying to entice the West with more military aid, while European Council President Charles Michel said on Monday that European countries have been forced to enter into an arms race due to the war between Ukraine and Russia.
