Julian Assange suffered stroke in a British prison.
A British newspaper has reported that the founder of the whistleblower site WikiLeaks has suffered a stroke in a British prison.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who has been detained in London’s Belmarsh security prison since April 2019, suffered a stroke in a British prison on October 27.
The Daily Mail quoted Julian Assange’s fiancée Stella Morris as saying that WikiLeaks founder had suffered a stroke in Belmarsh Jail, where he has been held since 2019.
According to this report, the above incident took place on November 26, during his virtual presence in the Supreme Court.
Morris believes the stroke was caused by the stress of ongoing court proceedings against Assange and his deteriorating overall health.
According to Morris, the stroke affected Assange’s overall health, he explained: “The coordination of his eyes has been lost and his left eyelid has not been closed and his memory has been affected.”
Assange has reportedly undergone an MRI scan and is currently taking anti-stroke drugs.
