Jordan: Israel refrains from provocative actions against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Jordan described Al-Aqsa Mosque as a special place of worship for Muslims and stressed that the Zionist regime should stop any action that prevents Palestinian worshipers from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Jordan condemned the escalation of Zionist regime tensions in the Palestinian territories in recent days and the provocative entry of extremists into the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the auspices of the regime police during Ramadan.
“The 144-hectare Mubarak al-Aqsa Mosque, the 144-hectare holy shrine, is a special place of worship for Muslims,” said Haitham Abul-Ful, the official spokesman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry.
Abu al-Ful stressed the need to stop all actions that prevent worshipers from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, and said that the extremists’ aggression and behavior violate the existing historical and legal status and international law.
He stressed: “All provocative and unilateral actions that lead to further escalation of tension and violence must be stopped.”
With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the Zionist regime has deployed 3,000 troops in Jerusalem, injuring or arresting a number of people in the past night by attacking the Palestinian community, especially in the historic Bab al-Amoud area, which is the gateway to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also said he plans to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque tomorrow, Wednesday.
On Sunday night, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid visited the Bab al-Amoud area in occupied Jerusalem with the widespread support of the occupying forces. The Zionist minister’s illegal entry into Bab al-Amoud was part of Tel Aviv’s attempt to spread Judaism in Jerusalem.
