Saudi writer Saud al-Fozan sparks controversy over his “Cousins” in Israel.
Saudi writer Saud al-Fozan released a controversial tweet in support of bin Salman’s new policies and normalization of ties with Israel, in which he defended the Israeli regime. “The Jews are our cousins. I know they fought us in Khyber and Palestine. But that does not stop us from accepting them,” Al-Fouzan tweeted, drawing widespread criticism. They are the children of Abraham (peace be upon him).
“I personally respect the children of Israel because they respect the Arabs around them,” the Saudi writer continued.
“I did not see in the Israeli newspapers that they insulted the Saudis, while some of my Arab brothers in their newspapers only insulted and targeted them,” he concluded his flattering remarks about the occupying regime. It is an insult to Saudi Arabia.
These tweets caused a lot of user reactions. Many Twitter users and activists reacted to what Al-Fouzan had suggested through his Twitter account, saying that this man’s tweets showed the depth of his ignorance and his misunderstanding of the nature of the Arab-Israeli conflict. And that the relationship between Saudi Arabia, Israel, and other Arab countries is not the relationship of thoughts and media, but the relationship of truth and the destiny of a perfect nation. This tweet shows the Chinese background of Bin Salman’s men to pave the way for the normalization of relations with Israel and the possibility of his meeting with Netanyahu on a possible trip to the UAE.
