Israeli fighter’s emergency landing; Tel Aviv suspended non-operational flights with the F-15.
The Israeli army announced that one of its F-15 fighters had been forced to make an emergency landing, and announced that an order had been issued to suspend all non-operational flights with these fighters.
The Israeli army announced today (Friday) in a statement the emergency landing of an F-15 fighter jet in the south of the occupied territories.
A spokesman for the Israeli army announced that this morning, the wheel of an F-15 fighter jet had a technical defect during flight.
Claiming that a technical defect was occurring during a routine training, the Israeli army added that the occupants of the fighter, after realizing the defect, realized that one of the fighter’s cycles did not open and tried to fix the problem.
According to the statement, however, the occupants of the fighter failed to fix the technical defect and were forced to land at an air base in southern Palestine.
The Israeli army said that the fighter was landing on two wheels and despite claiming that the occupants had landed safely, it added that rescue workers were dispatched to the scene and transported the occupants to the hospital.
An Israeli army spokesman said the F-15 fighter had been damaged. However, there is no indication of the extent of this damage.
The Tel Aviv Army also announced that it had launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
Following the statement, the commander of the Israeli Air Force, Amikam Nurkin, ordered the cancellation of all flights with the F-15 fighter except for operational activities.
