The attack of the Iraqis on the Swedish embassy took place while yesterday, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced that, in a telephone conversation with his Swedish counterpart Tobias Billström, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hossein discussed the threat of repeating insults to the Holy Quran by a person who recently He discussed the desecration of the Quran in Sweden.
Fouad Hossein, referring to the danger of such outrageous actions, asked the Swedish government to prevent repeated disrespect to Islamic holy places.
He emphasized the importance of the existence of a firm international position based on international laws and customs that prevent disrespect and attack on religions, holy books and beliefs; Because such measures are not included in the form of freedom of expression.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister emphasized the attention of the Iraqi government and people towards the security and health of the diplomatic offices in Baghdad, including the Swedish Embassy in this country, and assessed the importance of respecting freedom of expression, based on legal standards, and not disrespecting religions or freedom of opinion.
On the other hand, Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström also condemned this action on behalf of the Swedish government and called such anti-Islamic actions unacceptable.
He emphasized that the Swedish government, in any case, does not support or condone these measures and considers itself obliged to support the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm.
