Iraqi sources: 16 million pilgrims entered Karbala in the first 10 days of Muharram.
According to Al-Furat News, “Baqer Al-Saadi”, the deputy head of the Iraqi Parliament’s Service Commission, announced that during the first decade of the month of Muharram, about 16 million pilgrims entered Karbala province.
He said that with our field follow-up regarding the Ashura pilgrimage, a high level of service has been provided to the pilgrims in Karbala.
Al-Saadi added that our initial assessment shows that about 16 million pilgrims entered the province and the capacity to receive them and provide services is considered a good and positive thing.
Earlier, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced in a statement today: Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, who is the head of the Ashura High-Security Committee, announced that the special security plan for this event was successfully carried out.
Baghdad Operations Command also announced in a statement: The plan to provide security for the protection of fixed and mobile Hossein delegations and processions during Ashura Day was successfully held.
