Iraqi Army: There was no incident of insecurity in the Arbaeen procession.
In a statement, the Iraqi Joint Operations Headquarters announced that no incidents of insecurity or vandalism occurred during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
In a statement today (Friday), the Iraqi Joint Operations Command announced the safe holding of the Arbaeen procession.
According to Moazin News website, it is stated in this statement that Major General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari personally supervised the arrival of pilgrims to Karbala Ma’ali and no insecurity or vandalism occurred on the walking route.
The Iraq Joint Operations Headquarters also emphasized that the intelligence work during this period was unique and special.
Yahya Rasool, the military spokesman of the Iraqi Prime Minister, announced yesterday (Thursday) that more than 20 million pilgrims participated in the Arbaeen Hosseini ceremony and said that five million of them were foreign pilgrims.
“Aqeel al-Fatlawi”, the deputy governor of Karbala Ma’ali, also announced on Tuesday that more than one and a half million pilgrims enter Karbala every day.
The deputy governor of Karbala announced that this province hosted pilgrims from 80 countries during Arbaeen and it is expected that the number of pilgrims will exceed 20 million people this year.
