Iraq predicts arrival of more than 5 million pilgrims from around the world.
According to Al-Farat News, Tahsin Al-Khafaji, the spokesman of Iraq’s Joint Operations Command, announced today that this headquarters predicts the arrival of more than 5 million foreign pilgrims to Iraq during Arbaeen this year.
He said: “The management of this population entering the country requires high capability and precision, and we have a plan in which more than 15,000 soldiers in civilian clothes will be present among the pilgrims, and their mission is to monitor the security and intelligence situation.”
Al-Khafaji added: The preventive operation to attack the hideouts of ISIS remnants and the deployment of military units in Anbar, Baghdad and the Karbala operation command will continue.
The spokesman of the Iraq Joint Operations Command also said: The above plan has been started since about a week ago, at the same time as the arrival of foreign Arbaeen pilgrims to Iraq.
