Iraq: Our relations with Iran are strong; We did not agree with Trump.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fawad Hossein announced in an interview with a Bahraini newspaper that Baghdad and Tehran have strong relations.
In a situation where the Iraqi media is reporting on the imminent visit of the Prime Minister of this country to Iran, the Iraqi Foreign Minister emphasized the strong relations between Baghdad and Tehran in an interview.
In an interview with the Bahraini newspaper Al-Watan, the Iraqi Foreign Minister stated: “Iraq’s relations with Iran are strong, and Baghdad has always tried to use it to improve Iran’s relations with the countries of the Cooperation Council (Persian Gulf).
In a part of this interview, Fawad Hossein emphasized that Iraq did not agree with Trump’s policies, that’s why the tension between America and Iran was brought to Iraq.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister also commented on the role of this country in the talks between Tehran and Riyadh. He said: Whenever Iran and Saudi Arabia are ready to resume negotiations, Baghdad is ready to help in this regard.
